What the test measures
The InBody Composition Test is a rapid, 30-second measurement that reports weight, percent body fat, intra- and extracellular water, skeletal muscle, visceral fat, phase angle (cellular hydration and health), and an overall composition score. The appointment is 15 MINUTES long and priced at $25, giving you a compact, data-rich snapshot during a single visit.
Each reported metric describes a different part of body composition: total mass, fat proportion, fluid distribution, muscle mass, internal fat around organs, cellular condition via phase angle, and a summary score. These separate measurements help you understand which aspects of composition are changing, rather than relying on weight alone.
How measurements are obtained
The InBody device uses a short measurement to estimate body compartments and fluid distribution across the body. The test itself completes in about 30 seconds within the scheduled 15 MINUTES appointment, delivering immediate numeric results that you can review right away at the center in Ellicott City.
Measured intra- and extracellular water and phase angle reflect fluid distribution and cellular condition, which influence other estimates such as percent body fat and muscle. Because multiple compartments are reported, the result is a more detailed composition profile than a single scale value, useful for tracking targeted changes.
Using results to track progress
Clients use the printed InBody report to compare individual metrics over time — for example muscle mass versus body fat trends or changes in intracellular water. Novum’s appointment model and 15 MINUTES sessions fit busy schedules for commuters and families in Dorsey’s Search and surrounding neighborhoods who want routine checks without disrupting daily routines.
Seasonal spikes in testing occur in Jan, Feb, May, and Jun as people start New Year programs or prepare for summer. Many customers schedule repeat tests to monitor those seasonal changes; the numeric outputs make it easier to see which specific compartments are shifting between visits.
